I. General
1. We specialize in Pugs, Scottish Terriers (especially our red wheatens), and Boston Terriers. We also occasionally have beautiful West Highland White Terriers and Toy Poodles.
2. No, we don't show our dogs. Nor do we "breed for" show--our primary focus is breeding dogs for health and temperament to be wonderful companions.
3. Certainly, though we make no guarantees as to how well a puppy or dog purchased from us would do in the show ring.
4. We do not have set prices for our puppies, instead, we price them individually. Color, size, and age all factor in to how much we ask for each puppy.
In addition to each puppy's purchase price, we charge an additional flat fee for delivery/shipping.
For puppies not shipped via air: There is an additional fee of
$100 that covers the cost of the puppy's travel carrier, health certificate, and vet exam.
For puppies that are shipped via air: There is an additional fee of $250 that covers the cost of the puppy's travel carrier, health certificate, vet exam, and airfare. [Note that in the extremely rare instance that a puppy's travel schedule has a long layover and the puppy requires a day-kennel service, an additional shipping charge will be added.]
5.All of our puppies are sold with full registration, including breeding rights, at no additional cost. That said, we encourage only the
responsible breeding of dogs or any animals. It is our view that breeding dogs are our canine friends and pets, and we enjoy allowing them to breed so that we can raise up wonderful puppies to provide you with good companions. Our dogs are not "breeding stock," kept like prisoners in small cages and never permitted to go outdoors. We are not a puppy mill. If you are, please don't purchase one of our dogs for breeding.
6. Yes. We ship our puppies out of the Omaha, Nebraska airport.
We prefer to use Continental Airlines exclusively, but if Continental is not an option, we will use Northwest Airlines.
Note: Due to temperature restrictions, in the winter, we will only ship Continental, unless the buyer is willing to pay the additional costs for shipping their puppy counter-to-counter or is willing to fly into Omaha to meet us at the airport and travel back home with the puppy in the cabin of the plane with them.
7. As stated above, airfare is included in our shipping fee. Our shipping/delivery fees are as follows:
For a puppy that is not shipped via air: $100
For a puppy that is shipped via air: $250 (includes airfare)
8. We accept personal checks, cashier's checks, money orders, and PayPal.
9. Yes. Once a puppy is spoken for via phone or email, your word will hold it for one week. After that, a deposit of half the purchase price is required to hold your puppy. We accept deposits on puppies AFTER they are 2 weeks old.
10. We guarantee that our puppies have been handled, played with, and socialized while they are here, and we guarantee that our vet has examined them and given them a certificate of health before they leave. Should your puppy die as a direct result of a congenital defect within one year of purchase, if we are provided with veterinary proof of this, we will refund half the purchase price or have up to one year to replace your puppy with one of similar quality.
11. No. We believe that is a puppy's owner's responsiblity, not the breeder's, to train a puppy and teach them the rules of their new household.
12. This varies by breed. Some puppies are ready to go at 8 weeks, with others (particularly smaller puppies), we prefer to keep them until they are 12 weeks or even older.
13. We feed our dogs and puppies a mix of several kinds of quality dry food, including PMI Exclusive lamb and rice formula, Purina PMI, and Iams Smart Puppy. We also use Science Diet, Sam's Club brand, and Alpo canned food.
II. Pugs
1. Yes, Pugs come in different colors. The most common are fawn-colored (tan) with a black mask or entirely black.
2. We raise the "traditional" color, fawn with the black mask. Please see our
Available Puppies page for current availability.
3. Our Pugs come from lines of free-whelping females, and all our our Pug litters (so far) have been born naturally, without a C-section being necessary.
III. Scottish Terriers
1. Yes, Scottish Terriers come in different colors! They can be black, wheaten (which is anywhere from cream to reddish blond), brindle, black brindle, red brindle, or silver brindle.
2. We raise wheaten, black, and black brindle Scotties, with an emphasis on our gorgeous red wheatens. Please see our
Available Puppies page for current availability.
3. Ian weighs 19 lbs, and Maggie weighs 20 lbs. Both their weights are correct for the Scottie breed standard.
4. While any dog, regardless of breed, can be snappish or grumpy, our Scottish Terrier puppies so far have been anything but! They have been successfully placed in homes with children and with other dogs with absolutely no problems. (Please see our
Testimonials page for more information!) Ian and Maggie are just a terrific pairing whose kids are not only gorgeous but also have exceptionally friendly personalities!
5. No, Ian and Maggie do not have VWD or Scottie Cramp, and their puppies have all checked out just fine at the vet with no problems.
